Legal Instruments

Currently, arbitration in Iraq is governed by the Iraqi Civil Procedural Code, which serves as the primary legal framework for resolving disputes through arbitration. However, a new Arbitration Law is approaching final approval from the legislature. The draft law has successfully undergone two readings in parliament and is now awaiting the final vote. Upon enactment, this law is anticipated to modernize the arbitration landscape in Iraq, aligning it with international best practices and enhancing the country's mechanisms for dispute resolution.
